3Ne Ch6

Oh how the righteous fall so fast...all in this chapter, the Nephites who are prospering begin to be prideful and dissensions arise in the church. Satan is able to lead the people in open rebellion and there are conspiracies to take over the government while prophets cry repentance but are slain.
After the robbers are extinguished, the people return to their own lands and still have provisions to live on and the robbers that converted even got their own section of land to live on and prosper in (v1-4). Everyone worked together and became stronger because they were peaceful by building more cities, roads, and keeping their disputings to a minimum (v5-10). The next two years, people began to be lifted up in pride because of their riches and identified by rank of job or station which caused more pride except for those people who were humble and penitent before God (v11-13).
In year 30, the church was broken because of the great power that Satan had over the hearts of the people to tempt them to be prideful and wicked, and the people were not ignorantly sinning but willfully rebelling against God (v14-18). The judgement seat is handed down to Lachoneus Jr and many prophets came to testify of the wickedness of the people, but this made the rich and high status angry because they were being called out, but they couldn't do anything about it publicly so they secretly murdered them (v19-23). The judges who did this were breaking the law and accused of their crimes but the accused banded with other influential people to covenant, just like the Gadiantons, to lie and help themselves (v24-30). So basically, there is another evil organization trying to destroy the righteous and defy the Lord by establishing a king and killing the current government....grrrrreeeatt...
