This whole book which is one chapter is jam packed with the history of the Nephites and Lamanites from after Christ leaves until 320 years later when things are drastically different. It rushes through a lot of years because there was peace, unity, and no lessons to be learned from mistakes! But that time was a wonderful time and the people were good and blessed by the Lord for their righteousness. It is only when the people start to become wicked that the blessings stop and the records are no longer among them because of the great wickedness.
I feel like I should do another timeline blog...
34-36: The Church of Christ becomes established through the whole land and everyone of the Nephites and Lamanites that had survived the natural disasters are converted to the gospel with absolutely no disputations because they all dealt justly with one another and there were no separation of classes (v1-3).
37-70: Peace continued while the disciples of Jesus performed great and marvelous works and miracles in the name of Jesus (v4-5). Also in this time frame the cities are rebuilt that had been destroyed and the Nephites grew in number to spread across the land and fill the cities with fair and delightsome people (v6-10). There were marriages and ordinances performed according to the new commandments given by Christ and zero contentions among the people (v11-13).
71-110: During this time period, the 9 disciples pass and return to heaven, but others are ordained to take their place while the people continued to live peacefully and completely righteously with no separation of Lamanites nor Nephites (v14-17). This generation was blessed and by the 110th year, the very last of the people that had actually seen Christ when He visited had passed away which meant the records which was kept by Nephi is being passed to Amos (v18-19).
110-200: Amos kept the records for 84 years and passed it to his son, Amos, after witnessing and recording about a small part of the people having revolted from the church and calling themselves Lamanites (v20-21). After the second generation had all passed away the people were spread across the face of that land and were very prosperous because of the Lord's blessings (v22-23).
201-209: There are now starting to be people that are prideful and lift themselves above others by dividing into classes and building separate churches to get gain (v24-26).
210-230: I suppose because there were so many people, that the disciples could not preach and minister to all of them which may be the reason that there are so many churches that deny the more parts of the gospel but say they know Christ (v27). Satan has gotten ahold of their hearts and started hatred between churches that causes one church in particular that denies Christ to persecute the true church and exercise power and authority over them as much as they could (v28-30).During these 20 years, the disciples continue with miracles but the people harden their hearts and seek to kill them with fire or wild beasts so that year after year they became gradually more wicked to the point of dwindling in unbelief (v31-34).
231-243: By this year, the Lamanites who did not dwindle in unbelief, but willfully rebelled against the gospel of Christ did separate themselves from the true believers of Christ and distinguished themselves as a separate people teaching their children to hate the true believers (v35-39).
244-260: After separating and rebelling, the newly called Lamanites waxed strong and became more numerous than the people of God and yet they still faked the whole having churches and decorating them (v40-41).
261-304: The Lamanites continue to grow in wickedness as they established secret oaths and combinations just as the Gadianton's had, but the Nephites are growing prideful because of their riches as well (v42-43). The disciples of Christ start to really feel the pain that comes from the sins of the world because both the Nephites and Lamanites were exceedingly wicked and none were righteous except the disciples of Christ (v44-46).
305-320: The people remained in wickedness as Amos passes the record to his brother, Ammaron, and dies (v47). Ammaron is told by the Holy Ghost that the records of the people must be hidden until the Lord brings them back for the house of Jacob when the people are ready (v48-49).
