The church that is established in the name of Christ is called by His name because it is His church and follows His mission and commandments. Everyone is commanded to repent and be baptized to be sanctified by the Holy Ghost and be as Jesus is.
The disciples continued to journey and preach to people who then got baptized in the name of Jesus, and while they were out they were visited by Jesus during a prayer to ask what they desire (v1-2). They wanted to know what the church should be called because there had been some disputations and the Lord clearly states that they should take on the name of Christ and be called the church of Christ so the Father knows who to bless (v3-8). Anything that is built upon Christ's Gospel is blessed and anything that is not will be of men and have joy for only a season until they are hewn down in the end (v9-12).
The Lord has given His gospel to the earth by coming to earth to be lifted up on the cross and suffer death in order to draw men unto Him where they can be given salvation and lifted up with the Father after being judged good (v13-15). Christ will be the judge of all and He will hold guiltless all who repent, are baptized in His name, and endureth to the end, but all who do not will be cast out (v16-18). These truths He will fulfill because no unclean thing can dwell in heaven and the only way to be clean is to follow His commandments of repentance, baptism, and enduring which is what is taught by His true gospel on earth (v19-22).
The disciples are commanded to write what is allowed of what they have learned and also of the works of the people because one day it will be a book that many will read and be judged by their faith in the book (v23-26) Men can only be judged by what they know, which is why the scriptures are important, they teach us of the truths of God and when we know they are true it is our responsibility and duty to follow their sayings and become like Christ and the Father by asking for more guidance (v27-29). Christ loves the faithful generation of the Nephites during His coming, but in the fourth generation there will be many led away by the son of perdition and they will be judged by what they have been taught such as walking the strait and narrow path to salvation (v30-33).
