Jesus administers the sacrament again after miraculously providing bread and wine, then speaks to them about the future! The prophecies of previous prophets are fulfilled through Christs coming now and will be when He comes to earth again.
Christ has to cease the praying but encourages them to continue their praying in their hearts while he administers the sacrament to them but no one had brought bread or wine so there was a miracle by the Lord to present them with the ordinances to remember the importance of the sacrament (v1-8). The people give glory to Jesus, but He continues the work He was sent to do by telling the people of the gathering of the house of Israel that will happen when all are brought to the knowledge of the truth (v9-13). The Nephites receive the land of promise as an inheritance and have a responsibility as the remnant of the house of Jacob to go forth and teach the Gentiles after they have been the hand of God scattering His people (v14-16).
The Lord will stop the adversaries of His people so they can be gathered and strengthened if they have repented and come unto God, and those who do not will have justice to face (v17-21). Christ will establish a New Jerusalem for His people to inhabit with the powers of heaven and God because He is the prophet that previous prophets have spoken and testified of to the people (v22-24). The Nephite people are children of prophets and have been blessed because of the covenants made to their ancestors which in turn will bless all the kindred of the earth with the knowledge of the gospel (v25-27).
When everyone has the chance to hear the gospel, the covenant will be fulfilled and it is up to each person to choose iniquity or righteousness believing in Jesus Christ, lifting their voices in praising, and having great joy because of the knowledge of their salvation through the Father (v28-35). When this happens it will fulfill the writings that the prophet Isaiah has written in Isa. 52:1-3 because the Lord will be known, heard from, and talked about (v36-39). More prophecies of Isaiah that are fulfilled are in v40-41, speaking of publishing peace and being clean to bare the vessels of the Lord and share the gospel(v42-44). This prophecing of the future is for the Nephites to understand what will come and record it for us, who may now read it and understand some of what he said as what has happened or will yet happen (v45-46).
