Now the Christ went back to heaven for the time being, the Twelve Disciples minister unto the people by praying and baptizing to be able to receive the Holy Ghost. Angels come to minister and then Jesus comes back to pray again for the people and admire their great faith.
Everyone went home after Jesus left and immediately spread the news of His visit, ministering, and coming the next day so that everyone could travel to the place where Christ would come to visit the Nephites again with the disciples in twelve different bodies of people because of the great number (v1-5). While waiting, the disciples taught and the multitude prayed unto the Father like they had been taught from Jesus, nothing differing, with the intent to be given the Holy Ghost (v6-9). After praying they went to the water and all the disciples were baptized and received the Holy Ghost but also were ministered unto by angels and then by Jesus who came to minister (v10-15).
Christ also addressed the multitude by commanding them to kneel for prayer and told them to start praying themselves while He prayed a little ways off in thankfulness to the Father for bestowing the Holy Ghost upon those He had chosen and asks for the Holy Ghost to be given to all who believe on His words and become one with God (v16-23). Jesus finished His prayer and returned to find the disciples still praying faithfully and he smiled upon them with a shining countenance encouraging them to continue to pray as He goes off to pray again to thank the Father for the pureness of the chosen ones (v24-29).
He returned to disciples that continued to pray and smiled again upon them and returned to pray for a third time, but we do not get to hear the words of this prayer because they are sacred, but the people there bear record of the marvelous words spoken by Christ (v30-34). He then returns to His disciples and expresses His feels to them because of their faith and ability to witness great miracles unlike the Jews or others who did not have enough faith to witness great things (v35-36).
