I don't know how you feel about more battles, but you'll be hearing about the fight against Gadianton robbers and the Nephites. The leader of the Gadianton's, Giddianhi, demands surrender but with Gidgiddoni as the chief captain of the Nephite army, they prepare to defend themselves.
Okay I'm super excited to do this interpreting letters from people again! Here we go, a letter from the leader of the Gadiantons to the leader of the Nephites! (v1-10).
"Dear Lachoneus, you are a straight up cool guy and I'm only writing to tell you how awesomely you have all done in defending what you think is your rights and liberty. I say that, but I feel bad that you think you can stand against my brave and strong men who are about to come against you because they are angry from all the wrongs that your people have done unto them. I say this as a warning to protect you because you think you are doing what's right, you should give up your cities and possessions so you don't get destroyed.
"Now don't think we want to enslave you or anything, it would totally be chill if you just joined us and I cross my heart that we won't destroy you. On the other hand, if you don't I promise that in a months time my armies will come down upon you and spare no one from the sword. I am Giddianhi, leader of the good society of Gadianton, founded of an ancient date, handed down to us, and I only want what is good for my people which is their rights to the government you have wickedly withheld from them. I will avenge their wrongs if you will not cooperate. ~Giddianhi"
Now, I don't know about you, but if I received a letter like this I might be a little shocked like Lachoneus was. He was mostly surprised to hear that the dissenters think they have been wronged when they clearly left and wronged themselves, but either way he was not going to himself be threatened and told the people to gather and cry to the Lord for protection (v11-13). Once everyone was gathered, he had fortifications built and guards set up so they would be prepared when the robbers came to attack, but he also comforted his people with words that the Lord will protect them as they are righteous (v14-15). Lachoneus was a good leader and inspired the people to do good and volunteer for the armies to protect them under the direction of the spiritual and righteous Captain Gidgiddoni and other Nephite captains (v16-19).
The people wanted Gidgiddoni to take his army and attack first against the robbers but he says that the Lord forbid him because He is going to deliver them if they are patient and take time to prepare (v20-21). Close to the end of the 17th year, all the Nephites with their horses, chariots, cattle, and substances gathered southward to answer the proclamation from Lachoneus between Zarahemla, Bountiful, and Desolation (v22-24). The people fortified themselves and had the fear of God in them because of the warnings of Lachoneus so they repented of their sins and prayed for deliverance while they prepared weapons of war, armor, shields, and other useful fighting stuffs (v25-26).
