To the multitude Jesus speaks of judging others, and He brings it home by pointing out we will be judged how we are judged so it's more important to first look at our own faults (v1-5). Another key principle He teaches is not to cast pearls before swine because they will trample them, but you can always come to God for help and ask questions because he will always answer (v6-8). No man in their right mind would give stone to someone who asks for bread, so why would the Father in Heaven give evil gifts when His children ask for good (v9-11).
The golden rule...whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them (v12). Be honorable and you will be happier for it because people will respect those who respect them. Christ bids us to enter into the way to life even though it is narrower and harder than the one to destruction (v13-14).
There will be false prophets seeming good but their fruits will show their roots because only the good tree can produce good fruit (v15-20). It's unfortunate, but not everyone will enter into His kingdom just because they say Lord, Lord, it is only the ones that have done the will of the Father (v21-23). You can act like you do things in His name but only if they hear His saying and doeth them will they have a solid foundation instead of the weak foundation that comes from not following God (v24-27).
