Mormon address the latter days, especially the descendants of the Lamanites in this day, and encourages them to accept the gospel and Christ so they can be saved. The Bible and Book of Mormon are both records that testify of Christ and the gospel, and those who believe in the Bible should also believe in the Book of Mormon.
To the remnant of the house of Israel, know this, that ye must repent, lay down the weapons of war, come to the knowledge of your fathers, and believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God so ye can be saved (v1-5). These simple truths that Mormon speaks to us are plain and easy to understand so we have no excuse to say we are confused or did not understand the words of Mormon. Jesus has brought to pass the resurrection of the dead, the redemption of the world, and everlasting salvation for all who can stand before him guiltless on judgment day (v6-7).
To be guiltless before him, we must repent, be baptized in Christ's name, live the gospel by what is taught in the Book of Mormon and Bible because they are written for us so that we might believe in Christ (v8). The Book of Mormon was written so that we might believe the Bible and they support each other in helping people believe in Christ (v9). When you believe the scriptures, you will know that you are part of the covenant people and have a way to be found guiltless before Christ when the day of judgment shall come (v10).
