Even though the first kind, Orihah is righteous the next generation is not so good and there becomes two kingdoms led by different descendants of Orihah.
Orihah reigned righteously all his days and had 31 children with 23 of them sons, including the hare to the throne, Kib, who reigned with some opposition from his son, Corihor (v1-3). Corihor rebelled and set up his own starting in Nehor, leading many away and gathering an army to attack and take Kib captive to rule in his stead, but Kib had Shule while in captivity who was angry with his brother and took back the kingdom for his father (v4-9). When Kib passed away, Shule ruled and spread the kingdom while Corihor repented of his evil and was given power within the kingdom by his younger brother (v10-13).
Corihor had a son, Noah, who rebelled against them and drew away many people, including his brother Corhor, just as his father had done with Kib, gathering an army that took the kingdom away from Shule (v14-17). The sons of Shule snuck into Noah's house and killed him before he could kill their father and restored Shule to the throne, but Noah's son, Cohor, built up Noah's kingdom separately dividing the people (v18-20). When Cohor did attack Shule, he was beaten and slane making his son, Nimrod the new leader who then gave power to Shule and gained his favor (v21-22).
The Lord sent prophets to tell the people to repent of their wickedness or be destroyed, but the people reviled against them and mocked them which did not sit right with Shule, so he executed judgment against them (v23-24). He helped the cause of the prophets in the land and the people were brought unto repentance, staying the hand of judgement from the Lord and letting them prosper in the land (v25-26). Having kings was frowned upon by the brother of Jared and has proven to be troublesome, but if the kings are righteous they have the ability to lead their people into prosperous times and grow with the blessing of the Lord (v27).
