Moroni Ch1-5

I do a chunk of chapters for two reasons, they are small and they pertain to each other. Moroni didn't think he was going to have any more time to write but he ends up giving us great knowledge on how to perform certain ordinances. The conferring the Holy Ghost, ordaining, and administering the sacrament are all included in his instructions.

Ch1

Moroni is hiding so that he does not get caught and killed by the Lamanites who continue to have wars among themselves, and they seek out and kill any Nephite descendants who might have escaped who will not deny Christ (v1-2). Moroni would never do that so he wanders to keep safe and writes a few more things that he hopes will be of worth to those who will read his words (v3-4).

Some of the precious words of The Lord spoken to only His disciples when He first visited the Nephites were instructions how to give the Holy Ghost in His name to those who are worthy (ch2). Another important part of the church is ordaining priests and teachers in the name of Jesus Christ to preach repentance and remission of sins, and the elders of the church are able to do this according to the gifts of God by the power of the Holy Ghost (ch3). Elders and priests are given at boring to administer the sacrament in remembrance of the flesh and blood of Christ, which was shed for all mankind, but it must be done correctly using the prayers that are written here (ch4-5).
