There are some fascinating questions The Lord asks in v1-2. I will have to look more indepthly at these questions and all the footnotes that accompany them because I don't understand the background. To me it seems The Lord is asking why there are no more true believers when he came....but that is speculation.
When Christ comes he will be learned on how to speak to the people so they understand Him (v4). He is also given a compassion beyond any I have known in my life to listen to others and turn the other cheek in all situations (v5-6). He never had to turn to violence because He has the power of his mouth which will condemn those that are the adversary (v7-8). The Lord's adversary will grow old, weak, and have no support from God while we will have the light from his fire (v9-11). I love how The Lord uses symmetry in symbolism in v7 and v11 when he speaks of words to do with fire. In v7, His face is set like a flint, and in v11, when struck it creates sparks where we can light our fire and kindle it to strengthen it.
