The Lord tells Isaiah to write scriptures because destruction is imminent and The Lord hastens the end (v1 and footnotes). Just like Joseph Smith had witnesses, Isaiah takes witnesses to do this record (v2). He speaks to his wife about the name he has been commanded to give their son (v3-4). The Lord speaks of how Assyria will take over Israel and pass through Judah and take control over the future birth place of Immanuel (v5-8). He tells then to make and alliance now so they will not be broken and will be spared because they are not relying on secret plots (v9-12).
Trust in The Lord and be humble because he will be a sanctuary for the righteous and a stumbling rock for the wicked (v13-15). Save the teachings and doctrines of Christ (v16). Isaiah and his sons' names mean Jehovah saves, he hastens the prey, and a remnant shall return. They represent the sign of The Lord (v17-18).
The signs have been given which means it's not necessary to seek spirits and wizards for guidance, it is through God we can talk to the dead (v19). The scriptures are a testimony and if scriptures altered from His words, there will be no light in them (v20). Israel would not harken unto God's words and are punished with captivity but not humble themselves. Instead they curse God and become driven to darkness and anguish (v21-22).
