Nephi considers himself a better public speaker than written but he has done both by the power of the Holy Ghost which means it is of great worth (v1-2). The Lord answers his prayers and makes his words strong that speaks plainly to persuade men to believe in Jesus and against sin in truthfulness (v3-6). He cares for his people very deeply and for the Jews and Gentiles who will read his words (v7-9).
Nephi has born his testimony of Christ in all that he has written and they are the words he was commanded to write by God (v10). Ask yourself whether these are of Christ, he will show you the truth (v11). Nephi wants us to join him in the Father's kingdom and prays for us to meet again and those who are righteous he looks forward to seeing (v12-13). But those who are not, Nephi bids an everlasting farewell too because he knows these words will be a judgment against all who read them (v14-15).
