2Ne Ch14

Paired with Isaiah ch4, this chapter speaks of the cleansing at the millennium.
As a member of The Chrurch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I have had many people ask me about polygamy and I've had to explain in many different ways. The reason it is acceptable is because The Lord allows it, look at v1 and it says the women are fine without the men but they cannot avoid reproach without taking up one the name of a man. The footnote in Isaiah explains why it is seven women to one man, "because of the scarcity of men due to wars." It is not a bad practice but it is also not needed in our day.
"In that day" (aka when The Lord comes to judge the Earth) the righteous shall be beautiful and glorious (v2). The ones that are left after the cleansing shall be called holy and set up to live in Zion (v3-5). The Lord will build a refuge for his people to be saved from the heat of the cleansing (v6).
