Brief explanation

The analysis, as I have written in, is a very good summary of what is to be found in the Book of Mormon. The explanation describes where each part of the book came from.

1. Notice Nephi kept two separate records: one for spiritual matters and another for facts with only the major spiritual stuff included. I do this too! I have a church journal and a regular journal (and then there's this blog out in limbo) mine might not be as good or as important as Nephi's but I would probably try a little harder to be more professional if I knew so many people would read it...

2. So it is my understanding that the Book of Mormon contains the small plates of Nephi, the abridgment of the larger plates of Nephi by Mormon, *and plates of Ether*. That's what I understood at least.

3. Correction^ *and an abridgment of the plates of Ether by Moroni*

4. So here's something I don't understand. The bible was handed down and eventually became what it is today through royalty in England, right? The Nephites had the same record or at least a similar record because they quote Isaiah and talk about the records they acquired from Laban a lot and buried it with their records...so how...? It'll be something to research :) or have my very very few readers answer!

So, 1st six books are small plates, then there's a commentary: words of Mormon, the abridgment of the large plates is from Mosiah until Mormon ch7, then Moroni finishes the record and abridges the book of either, lastly, Moroni gives some awesome sermons, guidance, and promises.

The last section on the page has an explanation for corrections made from Book of Mormon edition to edition. Meaning: humans aren't perfect! There were some mistakes but the corrections "seem appropriate to bring the material into conformity with prepublication manuscripts."
