1Ne Ch18

Here we are going to read about the finishing of the ship, Nephi's baby brothers, and the journey across the sea to the promised land.
It's nice that this chapter starts with Nephi's brothers working with him in worshiping The Lord and building the ship (v1-2). Nephi often goes and asks for guidance on how to build this ship and was shown great things so he could finish the ship so they could pack up and leave (v3-6). Although they weren't mentioned before now, Jacob and Joseph were born or Lehi during their travels (v7).
As they journey by sea, all is well and everyone becomes happy, but some are more rude about it (v8-9). Nephi is worried because he knows they are guided by the faith and righteousness the group has. He tries to speak to them with soberness but the wicked ones were not having that. So they tie him up and treat him with harshness but "The Lord did suffer it that he might show forth his power"(v10-11). The Lord is in pain because he has to watch his faithful servant, Nephi, in pain but it is necessary to fulfill his word.
When Nephi is bound, the Liahona stops working and storms arise to drive them about (v12-14). After FOUR DAYS, the storm gets so bad that the wicked finally understand that the judgements of God were upon them and they released Nephi (v15). It's amazing that Nephi went four days being tied up without the rest of his family that was righteous being able to free him and he is still grateful to The Lord and doesn't murmur against Him (v16-19). Only the power of God could help him and he was faithful and not angry at his discomfort. Immediately when he was released he praying for the storm to cease and for safe travels (v20-22).
We don't know how long they traveled hut they did eventually reach the promised land and began to work to make a life for themselves (v23-24). They were blessed with good crops and an abundance of wildlife and materials to begin their life and spread across the land (v25).
